The closest I've gotten was Gen IV when I played through Diamond twice (because I lost my first chip), Platinum, and both HGSS.

I don't remember my second Diamond run but my first was

I don't remember any runthroughs of Platinum because I've played it too damn much. They all kind of run together.

I did it with gen 3 once.

It got a bit boring towards the end, probably because I played them all back-to-back.

I prefer Yellow over Red/Blue because of the increased difficulty.
