I have experimented with it and I've had some degree of success with it (not more than 1400 in the ladder thoI'm shit at building teams).

But we got Magearna which is a god tier Trick room setter (even more iwth the fact that most setters are Psychc) so I do think TR viability has increased since gen 6.

I actually like this design better. Crabrawler was effective but i never liked its face much and the antennae were weird. Crabominable is goofy but it's charming to me.

Just use it. I dropped Crabrawler at level 30 and picked it up before the league. It felt like I reconnected with an old friend. Just don't treat is as a coolmon, it's intentionally ugly, it's part of its lore.
Even if you can't bring yourself to liking it you at least have to acknowledge that GF went with something really unique that no one expected
