I've hatched more than 1200 eggs for a fucking shiny minior

Bored, I decided to switch it up and breed some stuff for the battle tree

While I was hatching bagons, one of them came out shiny
I can't even use the rng seed method because I saved last like 6 hours ago and had random encounters in the middle

I'm starting to think chaining might be faster than egg breeding
I'm aware that the odds are slightly lower and how only about 3/4 of the encounters will have the maximum improved chance, but for each egg I hatch I can knock out about three mons in a chain
If my main interest is to complete a living shiny dex and not competitive breeding, couldn't this be the better option?

depends on the mon. Some pokemon are a bitch to SOS, take Mimikyu and Sandyghast for example. Mimikyu each require two moves to faint, effectively halving efficiency, and Sandyghast spam sand attack and kill each other with bulldoze. For those Breeding is the better option.

The bottom screen can be useful when Gamefreak wants it to, but that's the problem, they always switch what the bottom screen does and they don't give you options for what to do with it (especially in Gens 5 and 7). It was best in Gen 4 when it had all those functions available to you without having to dive into pause menus, and Gen 6 whern you could leave it on the Super Training screen and always see your eggs while MMing.

They could have easily, EASILY had a little button in a corner of the Rotom map that switched to a quick party summary, like the Poketch had. I mean, you're not going to need the map all the time, and you're especially not going to ever need guidance from Rotom because it just spouts a handful of random phrases after you've beaten the game.

Whoa, this is weird as fuck. I was looking in my dex and saw that for some reason, I have both shiny male Kadabra and shiny female Kadabra forms in my Pokedex. I've never encountered any before, and I haven't scanned any QR codes of those. Any idea why this happened?

that was a pretty uncommon occurrence. generally the shiny chance caps out after 70 encounters - in a row. getting it in what sounds like 10-20 in a single chain is pretty good.

I would assume that because Pokebank is acting like the middle man now, it would be possible.
