Crabominable is one of those situational pokemon that, if you can pull off what you need from it, can win an entire game for you. What you need to pull off is fairly simple.

In double or triple battles, you need a Crabominable with Anger Point and another pokemon with Frost Breath. Anger Point triples the pokemon's attack when it takes a critical hit.

Frost breath always inflicts a critical hit and Crabominable resists it.

You Frost Breath your own Crab to bump it up, then use Trick Room to turn a mediocre slow attacker into a fast monster with 405 base attack.

It's not very practical, but goddamn if you pull it off.

As someone who's favorite type has been ice since gen 1, this is the worst part imo. I thought that surely we'd see some love after the xy disappointment. But there was only 1 original ice type added this gen, and it's this pile of shit.

No, fairy/ice-Ninetails, steel/ice-Sandslash, and ice-Sivally don't fucking count. Those aren't original ideas, they're lazy ways to slow the fast-approaching 1,000 pokedex mark by "adding content" without adding content.

i'm not a big fan of the mystery eyes on the edit but the bottom picture sure looks a lot more like what the pokemon's backstory is supposed to be: a crabrawler who got lost in the icy mountaintops and adapted to the new environment. the boxing gloves are still noticeable under the fur and i like that it retains its one droopy eye.

Thank you. And this generation in particular is swarming with cutesy stuff. I can get behind that stuff, but now it's saturating the franchise way too much. Crabominable is honestly a silly design that I can get behind and from what I witnessed some say, it's a clever as fuck design too, even if the typing leaves a lot to be desired.

People don't seem to understand the difference between being ugly in the sense that Pokémon like Granbull, Weezing and Stunfisk are (Where it's intentional and adds to their charm), and ugly in the sense of being a bad design. Crabominable is unfortunately both kinds at once, being ugly in a charming, intentional way yet also being a really awkward design that isn't very appealing. Poor guy.
