It forces you to, even against your wish. If you dislike thinking they're dead, you and I both know that isn't the case. You just simply release them after one faints. This is the most effective method to use a great number of Pokemon, but also keeping a team of only 6 Pokemon.

Too easy, I end up with like 20 pokemon in my box and only maybe 1 or 2 dead. I've toyed with different rules like no Pokemon centers or No items but i still can't seem to find a difficulty that's just hard enough.

They inevitably become grindfests. If you don't grind and don't go out of your way to gain levels, you'll inevitably get screwed over at some point. It only takes one bad instance of RNG to destroy your run.

Skill has nothing to do with it. If you're willing to grind for five extra levels before a gym leader, you won't lose. It's a challenge in the loosest sense of the word.

I think it's great for people to play the game how they want to play it. What I don't understand is the popularity and the need to share your nuzlocke and follow others. I guess I'm just not an online sharing kind of person and using language like "unexpected bro" and "epic critical" doesn't suit my play style. I don't get the point. If you want to use different pokemon its more effective to play normally and if you want a challenge a low level run better forces you to try different strats and movesets. Maybe its a thing for roleplayer.

I've never gotten far into a Nuzlocke run without giving into pressure and cheating whenever a mon I liked died. So I just have a single question, how do runs work when you eventually fight the Box Legendary like Groudon? Do you kill it or try to capture and maintain the perma-death rules?

Usually I kill it just because I personally avoid using legendaries, especially during Nuzlockes. Depending on the legendary, it can be a mini boss.
