All Genius Sonority had to do was create visuals and animations for games that have all the groundwork designed already. All the gameplay and pokemon already existed. It is not surprising that they did a "better job" than GF when their job was incredibly specialised as opposed to GF's job of creating entire games in every aspect, especially when they had home console fidelity to work with.

Lol, no, GT didn't work with the GC, which means that everything had to either be rewritten or ported from the GBA games, and, on top of that, the had to create all the models, animations, etc, the write plot, etc, so, technically, they created the entire games, framework and all, and still gave us better games.

They may have created a Slowbro model but they did not design Slowbro. They may have programmed and implemented battle mechanics but they did not design the battle mechanics. The majority of their time would have been spent creating visuals because they don't need to worry about anything else, a luxury GF does not have. (nor do they have a platform that would support it) And a lot of the models are still garbage.

PBR offers nothing new or original, it is just a periphery to DP that adds more spectacle. Which is totally fine but it's not the greatest thing ever to happen.

An animation like the OP gif is great but would suck ass hard in a mainline game. How long is it, at least six seconds? Imagine if every encounter in the game had animations that long on every hit, in every wild zubat encounter. Not to mention the animations of pokemon running up to the enemy to do their attack on top of that. It would fucking suck and you'd end up with people just turning off animations entirely and all the time spent making them would be wasted.
