I'm 3hrs 25mins into a Sandygast chain right now. Still nothing and since this was my first chain attempt I botched the preparations. All out of ethers and potions, it's now or never.

Actually just caught my first SOS shiny, a qt gray Mimikyu

Prolly like somewhere around 8 hours actual effort-time but I did other things including a sleep break so it wasn't too tedious

sandygast is definitely one of the better shinies this gen

also, might i suggest to just use leppa berries for restoring your PP? you can grow them infinitely thru poke pelago and iirc, you can't purchase ethers or elixirs anywhere

I got a shiny zubat after SOSing 30. Wasnt even hunting shinies, just EV training. Don't have the shiny charm.

Did you turn off battle animations?
I found a shiny wishiwashi after maybe 500 calls.
Not sure if shiny charm helped but I have that as well.

And don't fucking forget to bring a status like I did. It kept calling shit and wouldn't get in the damn ball.
