Gen 1 and gen 2 moves were great, with how a lot of them inverted the screen colors, and all those robust 8-bit screeches. Felt super powerful to pull them out.

Back then when something used thunderbolt, you knew from the effect and sound it was gonna hurt, and it did.
It felt like you were carpet bombing a mother fucker.

Now it looks and sounds like a slightly stronger thundershock, disappointing.

Thundershock was pretty gud too. Electrical crackling, then a loud as fuck BOOM. Thunderbolt kinda tapered off weakly.
