Same OP i have only eve caught 1 shiny and that was Ursaring in Gold. Funny thing is i didn't like him so I didn't even use him haha. Just unlucky I suppose

i've met countless shinies in XY when horde training my mons and killed them with Sutf. They have shitty nature and IV-spread anyway. Why bother?

The only shinies I've ever gotten have been the absolutely shit ones. Bagon and Sandile have the worst fucking colors imaginable holy shit. The Sandile pisses me off even more because I did NOT fucking want that piece of shit I just wanted a goddamn Gabite with Rough Skin

Some fucking SOS specific Pokemon with its stupid fucking Hidden Ability managed to be harder to find than a fucking shiny. Fuck the SOS mechanic

I never found any until XY, but that friend safari...I probably found five or six there, and I didn't even play in it all that much.

Been playing since gen 1 (or gen 2 when they added shinies) I've only found five and caught three of them. Two of them in Moon.

Its OK, the only shiny that I have is a sceptile that I saved from deletion. My brother was soft resetting sapphire to get female starters, and he was just going to delete him. So I guess that counts? Haven't found one since.
