It's not so much that they cheat, rather than they have EV training, possibly max IVs, and have movesets outside of the most recent four moves they learn through level up. They also have hold items, unlike trainers and kahunas.

Missing 100% moves is courtesy of bright powder. The AI pretty much only cheats by turning RNG in their favor as well as scaning your team before battles to find the best counters.

That anon doesn't sound very informed. The game doesn't cheat per se (except the infamous Shell Smash Kommo-o). And if the battle tree was as that anon described -- and just that -- then it would be a very reasonable and fun experience. However, the AI apparently enjoys many benefits the player does not. If you are doing a bit too well, then the AI won't be afraid to give you accurate 1 hit KO attacks, or make sure you miss consistently after one double team (or even using a bright powder holder without the double team), freeze you, crit you exactly when it matters every time, and consistently make you hurt yourself in confusion.

Basically, the battles operate under conditions that "could" exist (sure, in theory you could hit three times in a row with Sheer Cold), but would almost never occur in a PvP battle.

Was that ever proven to be true? From what I've seen, npcs just don't mind using OHKO and evasion tactics but they aren't really cheated. The thing is that they use it so many times that its bound to work and screw you over after some battles and people will only then remember how screwed up that last battle was.

If something like that was true, it would probably be in the code somewhere.

In ORAS I was able to hack and use a Mega Latias with Simple and Geomancy holding a Power Herb, a Mega Alakazam with No Guard and Sheer Cold, and Pure Power Slaking.

the rng is not manipulated it's just that you are bound to lose after some time, like in casinos.

all the game does is throw brightpowders at you because they are bound to work eventually.

Unpredictability with limited resources is fine at times. Makes you not rely on as many pokemon which might make you come up with better strategies.
