Should work. No one's really be able to test it yet, save for Injectors. But no one's said it doesn't work either. The parents do have to be the exact same species, though, not just in the same evolutionary line.

As long as one of the parents is an Alola form, or the non-Alola parents both don't have an everstone, the kid will be the Alola form (if the base form has one). Since they're the same species, even with the form differences, in the dex, it should function like it does for Pokemon without Alola forms for the new Ball Inheritance mechanic.

Starting on this made me realize that we've had three water-related balls, arguably Nest Ball and Safari Ball for grass, but nothing fire-themed. Should have had something that did some small amount of damage (with False Swipe mechanics) if the mon broke out. I'm so sad that you only ever get one of each Apricorn Ball in S/M. It makes me not want to use them on anything. Are you sure it wasn't 120? The base friendship for hatched Pokémon has always been 120, not 70, regardless of the base friendship for that species. I think the Friend Ball only works when you capture the Pokémon, not when you hatch it.

If it was 140 they might've changed the Friend Ball so it both works on hatched Pokémon and doubles friendship instead of setting it to 200. Can you check the caught Pokémon to see if it's still 200?
