SM cast is really giving BW a challenge for worst main cast. Whose brilliant idea was it to give Ash 5 companions? Talk about redundant. This is like in BW when Ash caught too many mons, only this time he has too many companions. There's simply no time to give them all proper development.

It's an inside joke since the pokedex said it usually takes 20 years for Snorlax to wake up. S/M coincides with the 20th year anniversary of Pokemon. Also, the Pokedex sprite of Snorlax over the years has him slowly waking up. This is the culmination of a 20 year long joke.
