I named my Solgaleo Galileo because it sounded good and had "leo" in it. Then when I had to name my Lunala I came up dry but then I remembered some nip band name Galileo Galilei so I named it Galilei because it sounded vaugely feminine to me and fuck everything.

Then I named Necrozma Leolei.

Lunala's cry in English, Mahina Pea, is Hawaiian for moon and bat respectively.

Solagalio's cry, Laliona, has sun and lion, but it's not as impressive, since Hawaiian for lion is just taking the English name and adding an a at the end. La still means sun in Hawaiian though.

It's just newer in the lexicon. Hawaii had a native bat species, whereas lions were just a neat thing for the royal zoo and on the symbols of those guys they traded with.
