Serperior, a mono-grass with horrible coverage options, rose to OU because it got a free Nasty Plot (technically) and great speed.
This thing has a free Swords Dance, decent speed, great offensive dual STAB, a priority attack, and can effectively run a good variety of items. It won't be a surprise if it ends being one of the staples of this generation by the end of it.

I use Mimikyu in 3v3 Battle Spot. He's a great cleanup sweeper. I've played around with other Pokemon in the top slots, but as long as you fuck 1 to 1.5 of their Pokemon, Mimikyu can kill everything as long as Play Rough doesn't miss. He would definitely suffer a bit in 6 man format and he's kinda sketchy in Doubles, but it's hard not to bring him to every single 3s. Secret tech is that a +2 Never Ending Nightmare KOs Celesteela. I actually don't know about Aegislash.
