I was having trouble too. Couldn't even win the normal battle royal with Celesteela/Kartana/Tapu Lele, so I EV trained them and ended up clearing the master battle royal with them. Then I went to the battle tree and beat Red to unlock super singles with the same team. Try using EV trained UBs and Tapus. Mine probably don't even have good natures or sets and they make wins easy
