I've been playing tons of Battle Spot and Showdown (mostly doubles but some occasional singles)

Her main body is as tall as regular Steelix is long. The arms make her effectively 3 Steelix, but she only weighs 2.5x. That's actually pretty light, like all Pokemon not named Mudsdale. Compare it to Mega Steelix who is only 5 feet taller/longer.

UBs have varying catch rates (e.g. Pheromosa has a 255 catch rate, the highest possible). Celesteela has a catch rate of 25 but the Heavy ball adds as much as the normal maxed Heavy ball bonus to catch rate.

I can't even enjoy a random battle without resorting to being a tryhard and the only friend that plays pokemon with me barely sees me.

I'm on Sun. I'm not invested enough in this series to learn the meta.

Only recently got back into Pokemon since skipping Black/White 2 and even then I never really played online so I've missed years of meta.

I just wish you didn't need to bother with EVs and IVs to enjoy a random battle online. I mean, I have a a9lh 3DS so if I wanted I could PKHeX everything but it's just shitty that I'd have to resort to that to enjoy a casual match of Pokemon.

PVP actually got better with time, some might argue it's peak was in the 4th gen in the Smogon fan format, then gen5 added so much shit at once it was impossible to gather everything. It was weather wars the experience and dragon gen Draco meteor the life. At least they where better than Gen2 Snorlax race and gen 3 Dugtrio+BP and CM abusers.

Just try to find a rip of the Unova games and enjoy them, they where really cool from an ingame balance standpoint. Unlike Slowla and no identity Kalos.

I meant ingame, they did a poor job with the new mons, they shilled gen1 mons in your face a lot and most Gen6 mons outside of the first 5 routes where a tad obscure.

Gen5 did the huge dex better, no old mons in BW, potential disk one nukes from past guns in B2W2.

Gen7 gave us magnemite at about the same level gap as B2W2 though, and the magnemite family breaks the game.
