Battle Tree or any "Tower-like" facility has never abided by the competitive rules you're more familiar with. They use anything in the game. Is Sun/Moon your first pokemon game? Just gonna have to get used to it. I get more triggered by Quick Claw activations, especially when it happens several times in a row.

I can name five different ways off the top of my head to beat sleep. Become proficiant.
