Ground/Ghost lizard that's constantly peeling away dead layers of "skin".
Based on an urban legend of a guy who had a bad trip and tried to rip his skin off.

Ability is a variation of Truant that has a 20% chance to pass onto anything it attacks.
Instead of "It's loafing around" the text says "It can't stop scratching!"

I always thought a Pokemon that, when bred with a certain other species of Pokemon, would make something entirely new. I mean, maybe Game Freak could use the concept of Skitty and Wailords odd relationship to a fuel for this concept.

We've had so many inanimate object 'mons, but where's the classic Karakasa and Chochino'obake?

Maybe a Normal/Ghost Karakasa Pokemon that has some sort of ability that allows it to gain stats based on weather, AND be immune to said weather. By gain stats I mean something like Speed Boost. Just set a few agilities up and we're good to go. Good for any weather team!

Rain - Def
Sun - Sp. Atk
Hail - Atk
Sandstorm - Sp. Def

And a Chochino'obake Pokemon. Ghost/Fire. Flame Body to make it a good hatch lead?

>Blarney, a Grass/Fairy leprechaun Pokemon
>learns Pay Day, Lucky Chant, Happy Hour, etc.
>is a speedy little bastard with high SpDef and viable HP and SpAtt
>has Super Luck, Prankster, and a new ability taken from Nobunaga that doubles earnings in battle (Bonanza)
>maybe has a move or carries an item revolving around shamrocks that increases "luck" aka chance of secondary effects happening

>Monocide -> Polycide -> Multiplide
>pure Poison-type bacterial Pokemon with a gimmick
>Monocide is a single bacterial cell that comes in a rod, spiral or circular form, also with different color variations
>evolves into Polycide at a set level, going through fission into a chain of 3 Monocide that retain the form
>only evolves into Multiplide when you have at least 2 Polycide or more in the party and one reaches a set level
>all of your Polycide fuse into one large bacterial colony, taking on the appearance of a massive ballooning cell with characteristics of all the forms you "fused" together
>having more than 2 Polycide in the party will fuse all of them together, up to a total of 6 fusions... this makes Multiplide's stats different (effectively giving it 5 different forms, similar to Gourgeist)
>has very high HP, high Def, high SpDef, and viable offensive stats, put poopy speed
>can cause nearly every status effect in the book, learns obvious Poison attacks but also moves like Infestation, Autotomize, Heal Block, Conversion and Conversion2
>candidate for abilities like Infiltrator, Liquid Ooze, Clear Body, Poison Touch, or Sticky Hold, maybe something new
>>
>>30711483

>An "atom" Pokemon that's Electric/Poison
>has an ability that causes it to change ionic forms based on certain moves (Ionize, Discharge, Charge)
>some moves will cause it to build an electric charge and it goes toward a "negative" form which is far more reactive and hence more offensive based
>others will cause it to lose a charge and become positive, which is more defensive based
>has a neutral form that is a mix of the two
>by using moves like Charge or Discharge it will cycle through the three forms
>i.e. Charge on Turn 1, transforms from Neutral to Negative form, uses Thunderbolt to deal heavy damage on Turn 2 and goes back to Neutral form, uses Discharge on Turn 3 and goes into Positive form, Turn 4 is uses Charge again and heads back to Neutral form, etc.

How useless or broken would this be? Being able to use any move through substitutes or protect sounds good, but it would also make it completely useless against Pokemon who have abilities that stop sound moves. I don't recall numbers off the top of my head enough to know which situation is more likely or common in the current metagames.

A cockroach and I have three concepts for one.

>Bug/Poison with a radiation and toxin theme with a face that looks like a gas mask, an abdomen that resembles a can of bug spray and some disturbingly humanoid features like humanoid legs and hands to reference the theory of cockroaches inheriting the Earth.
>A Bug/Dark designed after stereotypical bikers with a color scheme resembling a leather jacket, markings over it’s eyes that resemble Kamina’s glasses, large spikes growing from out of it’s shoulders, a more humanoid mouth with a smile filled with jagged teeth along with some of them missing and some graffiti on it's back.
>A pure Bug type that evolves into a headless Bug/Ghost type that holds it’s decapitated head by it’s antenna and attacks with it by swinging it like a flail and throwing it at enemies. It is more humanoid then it’s pre-evolved form and is designed after a rich, posh gentleman with a suit and tie design as well as “cufflinks” on it’s wrists and curled feet resembling fancy shoes.

I disagree. There are Pokemon with much more darker and grim themes then a cockroach that fights with it's decapitated head, which you have to admit sounds charming and funny as fuck.

The head can still be alive and everything (as alive a ghost type gets anyways) and the neck can just be some empty abyss like the headless specter from Scooby Doo, which might I add was originally the inspiration for the Bug/Ghost's rich gentleman vibe.

But I'm glad you like them!

A pure Ground or Dark/Ground type with actual humps on it's back for a visual pun on the name Camel Spider, it's also large enough to ride like a camel. Despite not being bug type it can till learn Bug type moves such as Spider Web and Bug Bite due to it's spidery appearance. Abilities are Intimidate, Arena Trap and Sand Rush (hidden ability).

The reason why it isn't bug type is because I wanted to be more unexpected plus camel spiders are the least bug-like spider ever if that makes any sense.

I want to see more Pokemon like Silvally and the Ultra Beasts. Less pet-like and more mish-mashy and monstrous. Kinda like you'd see on those silly "what Earth might be like in 1,000 years" documentaries. Imagine something like one of those spiny blue sea slugs with the wings, but it's huge and sort of jet-plane looking, but it flies with colorful feathery things instead of the obvious wings and it ends up looking more like a chopper with four propellers while moving, and then it ends up being a non-typical typing like Steel/Dragon instead of Water/Poison. I dunno, probably just me having strange/shit taste, but it might be cool.

Kendo Practitioner, Stage magician/Takarazuka performer. had there been native Ralts in Alola, i could have easily see them adapting in weird ways. Normal/Psychic for Ralts, Fighting/Fairy for Kirlia, Normal/Fairy for Gardevoir and Ghost/Fighting for Gallade. Gardevoir never develops the Trainer-Protection instinct due to Pokemon/Human emotions being near identical as well as the inability to escape preditors due to being on an island. they also never dropped their emphatic abilities, seeking to thrill itself and the world as an audience. (could adopt powders, as well as unusual moves such as Zap Cannon and Flamethrower)

Alolan Gallade gets in touch with its Fae side to attempt to get over the physical inability to strike ghosts, eventually dropping the normal typing, becoming a spectral Swordsman in the process. before Rowlet's line's hidden abilities were revealed, i would have given Gallade a pseudo-sound ability that enables any Sword-based attack to hit ghosts (at least neutrally) as well as give splash damage (against Subs) on the Pokemon itself.

Dawn Stone (female) Kirlia > Alolan Gardevoir. Dusk Stone (Male) Kirlia > Alolan Gallade. when they inevitably bring out the next games, they should just allow Pokemon to evolve whilst holding a Gem to invoke their original typing.

But i guess it'd be complicated to work them in as well as utilize Mega Stones. eventhough dropping one of their types to revert to their originals might grant either inherent weaknesses, moveset changes or even adaptiveness.

I think Sun & Moon has some of the best designs we have seen since Gen 5 and some of them such as Toxapex and Crabominable have become some of my favorites but I'm still disappointed that we get less than a hundred new ones now and I understand why. They want to appeal to the older fans with having gen 1 Pokemon and regional versions of those Pokemon available at the start but I think all they need to appeal to the nostalgia fans are the regional forms and maybe have the originals available as well.

I actually miss believing that I was in a completely different region of a vast world filled with it's own unique creatures native to it.

It' gimmicky as fuck but I personally really like this idea.

I always hear that but I've never seen anything to back it up. Sounds like bullshit to me since there's nothing logical about it. They can't ever reach 1000 pokemon for reasons unknown but they'll keep creating new pokemon anyway, just to reach the inevitable but more slowly?
>Plus they've probably realized that banking on nostalgia is just as if not more profitable than trying to win over a full generation's worth of new pokemon on normies

With the Nintendo Switch, a high powered, part mobile console that uses DS-like cartridges that can hold more data coming on the horizon why not transfer Pokemon onto it?

The Switch will probably make the DS systems obsolete anyways so I say transfer the Pokemon series and with all of that extra data and power available and we can have over a hundred or even double the new Pokemon and all previous 800+ Pokemon in one gigantic region or possibly even two regions that's connected like one big super continent.

>200+ new Pokemon, a hundred for each region
>all 800+ previous Pokemon sprinkled throughout
>an absolutely gigantic world being a super continent technically composed of two regions
>some huge story to match the sheer size of this game
>30+ new mega forms
>30+ new regional forms
>10 new Ultra Beasts

It would be the absolute most hypest thing since Pokemon the First Movie, this could be the biggest thing the franchise has ever done and it would work so well in their favor.

There are a ton of possibilities for Pokemon based on animals with parental instincts to have Parental Bond besides M. Kangaskhan, like a huge crocodile mother carrying it's babies in it's mouth or a Opossum with it's offspring clinging to it's stomach.

Dunkleosteus would be amazing. A 10 meter giant armoured fish, with insanely powerful jaws.

"This mechanism allowed D. terrelli to both achieve a high speed of jaw opening, opening their jaws in 20 milliseconds and completing the whole process in 50–60 milliseconds, comparable to modern fishes that use suction feeding to assist in prey capture, and produce high bite forces when closing the jaw, estimated at 6,000 N (1,350 lbf) at the tip and 7,400 N (1,660 lbf) at the blade edge in the largest individuals."

Possibly Strong Jaw, Shell Armour/other armour abilities. Also an ability that increased priority of biting moves, or a biting move that has priority.

Speaking of cool birds that should be Pokemon. Check out the fucking Shrikes.

These adorable, pudgy little birds are extremely predatory and are known to fucking impale the corpses of animals onto branches and other things for territorial purposes and to save them for later consumption and are given the nickname "Butcher Birds" as a result.

These tiny little serial killers even go after things like toads and snakes and are known to viciously stab them to death before decorating the trees with their corpses.

Sounds good. You're hired.

The Sticky Hand wasn't the only idea I had in mind. Other ideas I've come up with are:

-Grass/Fire Muscaliet
-Ice/Fire Llama
-Poison/Psychic Platypus
-Ground/Fighting Thorny Devil
-Dragon/Psychic Hoop Snake
-Many, many more.

Might open a DA for all of my own "PokeAus" creations.

I've come up with a Poison/Fighting platypus Pokemon with a design inspired by Wolverine from X-Men with venomous blade claws coming from it's flippers.

I've come up with so many concepts for Pokemon based on different animals, plants and even some cryptids that I've compiled them into this pastebin document. Check it out if you're interested.

My Poison/Psychic Platypus is based on the fact that the platypus uses electroreception as a sixth sense. It's design would look very similar to a monk.

Before Oricorio Baile, I thought of a Fairy/Fire flamingo that was also a flamenco dancer.

I've actually completely forgotten about the platypus' electroreception, i was mostly concentrated on the venomous spurs.

I like the monk idea too.

A Pikachu Clone that uses a wheel generator.

Upon evolution, it goes blind. But it still knows where its going using the electroreception on its bill. After years of honing their skills, they will achieve great wisdom.

How about a Poison/Normal type based on the mysterious Montauk "monster" corpse?

Have it start off as a cute furry nondescript creature that evolves into a sickly, mangy, almost hairless creature that more closely resembles the actual thing.

That's a Tekeli.
