The source for this shit is my shit stained asshole but hear me out. I remember a while back hearing that there's shit like text and files in black and white 2 that suggest that Hilbert/Hilda were the planned champions and by using the memory link they would use your team from Black and White 1,the gender you picked, and your name. But the plan fell through because the dev team thought that trainers Pokemon from BW1 might be too strong to beat or to weak to be a real champion.

The BW protagonists weren't in the game because it would simply make no sense for them to be in Unova and do absolutely nothing about Neo Team Plasma. Them appearing in PWT was certainly planned though
