Magmar. From its volcanic habitats, to its fire tipped tail, to the flame patterns on its body emphasizing its flame body ability. This pokemon is ugly but it is pure fire.

With its hairy arms and black zig zag stripes and yellow body, and they say it says blblbllblblblbllbllblbllllblbblb in the anime, just as you would think an electric type would look and sound. Not to mention it has an electric looking look in it's eyes and has a sparking fighting spirit, and shocking personality

Clefable because it was the first one, and it's literally just a fairy.

Froslass sums up both Ice and Ghost for me. An ethereally beautiful glass cannon.

I think Hippowdon is the most pure ground type to me.

A big hippo that lives submerged in the sand. It's bulky, it's tough, it it creates sandstorms. It's everything a ground type should be.

Another groundtyper here: I feel hard pressed to say something other than dugtrio. I don't think I'll use one again since got my fill back in RBY, but thats why. Sure there are two other pure ground lines from RBY and even more mixed lines, but Sandslash doesn't naturally get any ground moves in RBY and Marowak's ground moves feel more "Marowak line" than groundtype defining. Dugtrio line however, has earthquake as its capstone.

As far things after Gen 1, I dunno. Like the other anon said Hippowdon could make a claim, as could Krookodile and Mudsdale.

I guess. To me the moves that define the type are earthquake/magnitude. Mudsdale just feels like its made of dirt and soil and mud in a way that feels very 'essence of ground' to me. It feels right enough to me to be in the running while something like Mamoswine and Torterra (both of whom I love dearly) don't even get nominated

As a whole, I'd rather be choosing a few per type.

I reckon this because it's move pool is one of the ones that includes the majority of the things Psychics can do; Including telekinetic attacks and utility, the often otherwise ignored teleporting, some telepathy, clairvoyance, and other fun stuff like spatial distortion and gravity control. Moreover, it's 'super smart' shtick, and the spoons in it's design are two of the most iconic things associated with psychic powers.

Have a cute picture of the actual best Psychic type, just not the most representative.
