I didn't mind the visuals. The parts introducing the characters under an overlay of a stylized XYZ works well for what it sets out to do, and even if you dislike the crying, the battle between Jobfrog and Sceptile was great, culminating in that awesome shot of the Froakie line.
The Squishy stuff was decent as well, and while the "Enemies line up" is sort of cliche, seeing Alan on the bad guy's side is a very serious moment if you've watched the specials and don't know how XYZ ends.
Zygarde Complete eliminating the clouds over Kalos was a nice way to end it.
It could have been better but I don't think it was too bad.
