Masuda method is harder to fuck up, has good odds, can get practically any breedable pokemon and I can do other shit like pelago while I'm running eggs.
Chaining is great for high encounter rate mons, but spamming leppa berries, having to get weird movesets for cvonvenience, counting PP and being locked in a battle for hours is the antithesis of fun.
tl;dr masuda still best

With Bottle Caps now existing, you would probably find the Shinies you want way quicker with a Sync and Chaining

but Masuda Method is harder to fuck up, and if you know your shit can get you the right nature/IV's you need without Bottle Caps, and you can also get Egg Moves.

Smeargle and Ditto are the easiest for SOS hunting.

For Smeargle just let it Sketch Recycle and then Trick a leppa berry on to it. False swipe down then adren orb

For Ditto have a mon with ONLY RECYCLE (delete the rest) trick berry onto and do the rest.

Gen 7 has vastly inferior shiny hunting compared to gen 6. Say what you will about SoS, it's true. Not counting MM/SR/REs;

Is there an advantage to stocking up eggs in boxes and hatching them afterward? I've seen a lot of people doing this but I don't get how it's any faster than replacing your party with new eggs as they hatch.

I'm still mm'ing beast ball dewpiders. I think I've done about 6, maybe 7 boxes. Wondertraded them all apart from the perfect IV, traded them for legendaries and UBs.

Wondertrading becomes even better when you get the fortune tellers saying you may have some luck wondertrading, if you get 2 or 3 of them to say that then you earn quite a few plaza points per trade. I was earning 16 plaza points per wondertrade the other day.

Yeah I know it's all based on RNG I was just curious since almost all of my Masudas in the past have been over odds, some being even moreso. My Pyukumuku was 3, Grimer was 10, My Sandygast was 7, and Meowth was 54.

It took me about 3 days to complete the dex, and I only started with 30% done.

I felt the same way. It only took me about 2 days to complete the whole dex through trading with the GTS though. Get a valuable pokemon like vanillite or castform, breed a ton of them. You'll be able to trade for 90% of the dex.
