That track makes me feel sad too anon.

At the beginning of emerald it makes me excited for the adventure ahead, for the team I'll build and for the experience I'll have.

But after beating the game and the frontier - after doing everything there is to be done, I walk my character back home and save a final time while lying in bed.

Then I delete the save.

The music makes me so sad at that time.

I play through Emerald during summer every few years. I transfer all my pokemon first, but I delete the save after that.

The main reason is so I don't have to look up what buttons to press next time I plug the cartridge in. But my autistic headcannon is that the player dies, only to be replaced by a new one a few years later. or some time travel resetting the timeline bullshit, i don't really know and i don't really care either
