Not that guy, but Charjabug w/ eviolite was, for the most part, better in my playthrough. It could take even SE hits easily and deal decent damage.

Though, to be fair, Vikavolt destroys anything weak to electric, and it can 2HKO almost anything that's neutral. The only problem is that it doesn't get the chance to because of its lackluster speed.

Charjabug has better speed, an ability that gives allies free specs (albeit only useful in doubles) instead of an immunity it already doesn't have trouble with, and access to iron defense and eviolite. Compared to eviolite, the special attack boost that swaps it from physical to special is pretty underwhelming.
Vikavolt has roost, i'll give you that, but it's not worth the tradeoff.
