Trying to get in the game again and bought a theme deck of the latest expansion. Looking at the checklist packaged in, is the order of rarity correct? BREAK pokemon being more rare than any others followed by White Star > Rare Ultra > Rare Holo > Rare > etc.

The only other card game I play is Hearthstone so it's hard to gauge which cards are more rare than others. Like, are parallel cards the golden cards of PTCG?

Also what's the appeal of people trading online codes for physical cards. Seen a dude trade 30 (im assuming booster pack codes) for one Rare Ultra.

Got into PTCG like 2 months ago and have been buying boosters/blisters/tins/boxes in stores and also cards on eBay,

I have most of the pokes for a M Gard EX Steam Siege deck but one of the major mons I'm missing is Shaymin.
Started to look for places to get roaring skies packs since I'd rather try my luck then buy them for $80 a pop.
Gamestop says theres a store 11 miles away with low stock of it.
Think its worth it to go hunting? If they have the packs I'd probably clear the stock out but lol trusting gamestop online for booster packs

Hoopa Unbound or Hoopa?
Unbound sees play a lot due to its ability to get 3 EXs straight out of your deck.

Attack wise his damaging move is pretty meh. You'd be spending 2 turns to KO any more at which point your opponents active pokemon would have already killed him if he's already set up.

Maybe? Depends how lucky you feel. I bought a few Roaring Skies boosters and got absolutely nothing. I notice that they tend to cost a little more than the other boosters too. I figure with the money I could spend on boosters, I'm better off scouting for a (comparatively) cheap Shaymin.

Why are you running both meme spider and Toxapex though, shouldn't just one source of Poison be enough? Toxapex + Escape Rope/Lysandre might still be enough if they heal the Poison somehow. Also, if you run Shrine of Memories, you can pretend that you have Virbank City Gym by using Cruagunk's Poison Up. Just some thoughts.

One of the Pokemon Centers wasn't ready for otaku onslaught. They sold out in 3 minutes, people got mad and rowdy trying to get them. Then a lot appeared on online resellers. Other Pokemon Centers like Sapporo and Fukoka were much smarter and had a limit of 10 units per customer on Lillie sleeves. They still sold out quickly but was much more peaceful. They also instantly sold out online and the online store had a limit of 5 units per customer.

What a horrible set unless the pull rates on UR and above are amplified - any pack you get that doesn't have one is a complete waste of money because even the trainer base is wonky. Worst of all is that FA ultra ball which is them admitting they don't know how to create actual pack value so they just artificially reduce every pack to the Ultra Ball Lottery.

PCL has been in office since BW started and my wife's son could STILL do a better job of balancing. What an embarassment.

I'd say one of the bigger problem with English boxes is that the pull rates is not fixed unlike the Japanese boxes (anything SR or above in JPN sets are not considered in the regular set like our Secret Rares)

JPN XY Boxes (20 packs): 6 R, 3 RR, 1 SR / UR
JPN SM Boxes (30 packs): 11 R, 3 RR, 1 SR / HR / UR

In English boxes the pulls are pretty much all over the place out of 36 packs where you can pull basically nothing or opening a lot of EXs, Full Arts, and what not (actual value of the cards notwithstanding). IFF TPCi is smart enough (which I doubt they will be) they will put the "Hyper Rares" (those Ghost Rare lookalikes) in the reverse holo slots

Just like Plasma Freeze, and ironically we are in the same exact scenario with Sun and Moon since both sets are two "smaller" Japanese sets slapped together. This means the nominal pull rate for the FA ScR Ultra Ball is the same as the PLF ScR Ultra Ball (1:648 packs)
