WHY ARE THE POKEDEX ENTRIES IN SUN/MOON SO FUCKING DARK??
>pic related
>>30596687
There are so many better examples you could've used.
>>30596687
Because is run by a rotom, a pokeman that likes to prank.
>>30596687
Bewear's entry also involves killing trainers. Unusually dark entries this generation.
>>30597280
I think the entries are independent of Rotom. The entry for Toxapex that someone (Wicke, I think?) reads to you is the same one as in Sun or Moon (I forget which) and presumably she doesn't have a Rotom Dex.
>>30596687
Because ghost pokemon are best, and Rotom agrees. Therefore, make more ghosts.
>>30597463
Actually, Rotom seemed less than thrilled about the abandoned supermarket trial. It doesn't seem to like other Ghosts.
I think that shit like "When Cubone thinks of its dead mother, it cries out loud. Mandibuzz hear the crying and swoop down on the Cubone," actually helps alleviate some of the fucked up implications of forcing these animals into cockfighting competitions. Team Plasma would have a hard time arguing that Pokemon are better off in the wild when it's being stressed how the wilds are a hellish fight for survival, whereas getting into minor scuffles in-between eating beans and soaking in hot springs is the worst thing that happens to most Pokemon that have trainers.
>Primape can get so enraged it just fucking dies
It feels like every other dex entry is about maiming and devouring.
>>30598098
>if you put it in a Pokeball, it's likely it's still fucking mad all the time in there
>>30596687
Because they're written by Rotom, and he's a rampant shitposter
The entries for Megas are full-on edge.
>Gengar-M: Gengar's relationships are warped. It has no interest in opponents unless it sees them as prey.
>Alakazam-M: As a result of Mega Evolution, its power has been entirely converted to psychic energy, and it has lost all strength in it's muscles.
>Gyarados-M: Mega Evolution also affects its brains, leaving no other function except its destructive instinct to burn everything to cinders.
>Scizor-M: The excess energy that bathes this Pokémon keeps it in constant danger of overflow. It can’t sustain a battle over long periods of time.
>Glalie-M: The excess energy from Mega Evolution spilled over from its mouth, breaking its jaw. It spews endless blizzards.
>Salamence-M: Anyone standing in its path gets sliced right in two, while this Pokémon continues its flight without interruption.
>>30598539
>[muffled Primeape screaming]
>>30598098
that's more than half of /vp/ posters
>>30598451
Metagross has been pinning down and devouring things since gen 3.
>>30597687
>soaking in hot springs
> Soaking a cubone in hotsprings
BULLY!
>>30598826
>The excess energy from Mega Evolution spilled over from its mouth, breaking its jaw. It spews endless blizzards.
Jesus christ, can you imagine having such power coming from your insides that your fucking jaw is broken off.
Does it then grow back? Is your Glalie permanently jaw less?
>>30600780
>Glailie's Alolan form
>Mega Aerodactyl: When it Mega Evolves, it becomes more vicious than ever before. Some say that’s because its excess of power is causing it pain.
>>30600780
Megas are basically temporary forms aren't they? It'd just turn back when it reverts.
>>30597565
Because it is weak to ghosts
>>30598826
They are trying so hard to make up a reason to not include megas next game.
>>30596687
you need to read toxapex and mareanie
>>30596687
That entry already appeared in the anime and nobody bated and eye, grow a spine.
drifloon's is pretty good
>Stories go that it grabs the hands of small children and drags them away to the afterlife. It dislikes heavy children.
>>30602865
They only eat the spines on Corsola which grow back after 3 days.
>>30598826
>It envelops prey in its mouth, freezing them instantly. But its jaw is dislocated, so it’s unable to eat them.
Poor Glalie
The dark writing is missing the appeal of the series, honestly
>>30604391
You mean indian elephants?
>>30598826
you also forgot mega garchomp getting it's muscles and limbs melted into blades, mega lucario turning into a killing machine, and mega glalie's other entry that states it tries to eat shit but can't, so it just freezes them to death out of hatred
>you need to be bffs with your Pokémon to use mega evolution
>mega evolution fucks the Pokémon up
I almost feel bad for using it in Y. Almost.
Why is no one is talking about Gengar?
Its entry literally says it kills people.
>>30605297
FUCK AUSTRALIA
>>30605297
>>30605317
HELLO NU TIER HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Gengar's Sun entry is better.
>Should you feel yourself attacked by a sudden chill, it is evidence of an approaching Gengar. There is no escaping it. Give up.
Imagine reading that in an abandoned building, derelict ship, graveyard, or in the woods. I'd be pretty spooped. Or pissed that my Rotom is collaborating with feral Ghost types to murder me.
>>30600780
>Does it then grow back
what the fuck do you think a jaw is ...
>>30605317
It's just lonely mang
>>30596687
The pokedex is literally possessed. What did you expect?
>>30605317
WHOA that entry kinda references the first mystery dungeon game if you think about it.
>>30602822
How does that even work?
"Sorry folks, we are not including this gameplay mechanic in the next game because those pixelated creatures suffer too much when they use it."
>>30606350
It doesn't help that some Megas like Mega Mawile, Glalie, Beedrill, just outright saved shit mons. The box was opened you can't just slam it back shut.
>>30597463
>and Rotom agrees
Isn't he biased though?
>>30600780
>Mega Evolution is temporary
>tfw every time you Mega Evolve Glalie you destroy its jaw
>>30606398
It also explains the whole strong trainer bond thing. Doubt any pokemon would want to go through that unless it really thought the trainer knew what he/she was doing and it was for the best. Sure, it creeps into Stolkholm Syndrome.
>>30606604
Changing back fixes it I assume
>>30603009
Read Toxapex's ones.
>>30606630
Pokemon have incredible recovery rates, to the point that a good night's sleep is on par with the best modern medicine can offer. That said, like Mimikyu repairing it's disguise, the jaw's healing probably occurs offscreen.
This probably does mean though that Mega-ing Glalie too much could cause permanent damage to the jaw.
>>30606630
That probably doesn't stop it from hurting in the first place
>>30606849
>Mega evolving pokemon causes it pain and causes its friendship level to tank
>Will eventually say 'fuck this, I'm out of here' if done too often
