I've been doing this but I've only found a Corsola once and it just spammed recover so I couldn't get it's health low enough for it to call for help

They literally give you a cutscene about Mareanie attacking injured Corsola.

Once you figure out that Pokémon can sometimes call unwanted predators using the SOS system (happened for me with Carbink/Sableye) you can figure it out.

It's nowhere near as bad as Feebas in gen III, which you could only find in six randomly generated tiles on a specific route, with no indication as to how this works.

Recover has only 10 PP, and Corsola also has three other moves that should give you time to whittle it down. Just keep at it man, it's not hard. Also there's Taunt.

Shit, you underestimate kids. We used to trade secrets in games like they were crack. Believe me, if there is a secret to be found, kids will FIND it. Hell, its even easier these days, since they have the internet, and don't have to hunt down the Wise Third Grader who lives in the library and knows all of the games. All of them.

Find ripple spot . Save at ripple spot. Fish and soft reset till you find a Corsola.

I think its perfectly acceptable. It is a pain to find, but it ups that surprise factor. Makes it feel more valuable. I think it's also more acceptable when considering how integrated the GTS and just intercommunication is in the modern day. If a kid who really wants it isn't able to figure it out, they can use the GTS easily enough.

Gamefreak does a ton of dumb shit, but I really dig the encounter rates, styles and areas this gen. They put a lot of thought into the ecosystem. Just the idea of predators knowing the cry of their prey when they cry for help in order to track them down is a really nice touch.

Also, love how Slowbro is only found in the area where both Slowpoke AND Shellder exist. Or how Bagon is more common at the cliff base, than at the actual cliff. Cool stuff.

Yeah if you go fast near them like an idiot. All you have to do is ride Lapras back to the beach area and then right back to the spot and it'll have regenerated. You don't even have to get off Lapras. It's super fucking easy.

Literally the first Pokémon I fished up in Moon was Corsola. The first thing it called was Mareanie. The whole thing took less than a minute.

That's because Regenerator is its HA. You need to chain like 20 or more Mareanie. Get something with skill swap and T-wave and a bag full of Leppa berries. Skill swap every mareanie that appears until you find one with Regenerator. Then just t-wave it so it doesn't call for help while you catch it.
