Ice was invented for no reason beyond being a Dragon-killer.
Then they made Fairy-type to do the same exact thing, except they made it have resistances.

not only is ice type mediocre, it has the worst weather too, hail only does damage and makes blizzard always hit, no sp def boosts like sandstorm, no damage boosts/nerfs like rain and sun and the abilities associated with hail are mediocre too outside of slush rush which only 2 (iirc) pokemon have.

I mean if sandstorms buff the sp def of rock types couldn't ice buff the defense of ice types?
at least ice has aurora veil snow warning alolan ninetails now.
