the idea is to use 2 4iv dittos that cover all 6 stats, then you breed with ditto 1 until you get an egg with all 4 of that ditto's ivs, then you switch dittos and all 6 ivs are covered between the pokemon breeding and getting 5ivs become almost common

but yeah, having a hacked 6 iv ditto makes it faster, it's just not necessary and the time difference is relatively small compared to the difference a destiny knot makes, especially considering most are only gonna be breeding a few select mons for competitive and pokemon in the undiscovered group are pretty prevalent
