That being said, there are people that did like Gen 6. Personally I don't think it's as bad as /vp/ makes it out to be, but it's certainly one of the worse gens.

Gen 7 was even worse in a lot of important aspects is what happened.

It's better in some aspects but the entire festival plaza replacing the PSS debacle literally killed the longevity of SM, plus other shitstorms like the loss of the National Dex, a ridiculously huge list of unobtainable Poekmon (biggest in the franchise with some margin), Dexnav being replaced by an infinitely inferior and annoying system, and how disappointing the barely existing post-game turned out to be.

Every new gen, someone say the previus generation was better
