I see no purpose for it, if what you're looking for is to complete your Dex then the GTS is more than enough.
Using it I managed to get to 100% in less than a week after finishing the Main Story

I usually just send breedjects on WT after I finally get one I want, but I have only gotten two good returns from it. One was a Gible breedject (great because Gible is hard to find) and a near perfect IV Dhelmise breedject. Most of the time I get some random quick-balled early route mons.
