Do it via Masuda Method so you don't accidently lose it if you find it in the wild. Just catch a normal one in a premier ball and breed from there if you plan on doing shiny balltism.

Odds are worse, but I've encountered 3 wild shinies without chaining and before I finished the Dex. So I'd say eggs are the best option.
