Design and concept wise yeah they are. Gameplay wise both are incredibly solid and usable even outside of the main story.

With mimikyu I always hear people say they want a friendship evolution where it ditches the disguise but that seems stupid to me. Mimikyu is leeching off pikachu's popularity, why would it take off the rag?

Okay look, I get the origin of it. A crown of thorns starfish combined with a bunker or hideout is pretty cool. It isn't even a bad design. But it's fucking disappointing me as a evolution to Mareanie. Mareanie combines ugly and cute so fucking well. But Toxapex is just ugly and cruel while also having a weird shrink head. I'm sure i'll get behind it at some point but for now it left me pretty underwhelmed.

They should give it a split evo with another method. I know they are crazy about forms and variants right now but they really need to differentiate from the Crabominable name.
