why is Spring form so boring

Seasons being gone in general is kind of disappointing. I want to believe that it's not been implemented for 2 gens because 1.) Them getting used to 3D and 2.) Gen 7 being situated in a tropical climate, and that they'll bring it back in gen 8, but I'm not holding my breath.
