It probably wasn't banned because it was good, it was probably banned because smogon is retarded and couldn't figure out that using protect or switching to a ghost after it sword danced is a good idea since most of the time it would only have hjk and flare blitz
Plus it was rather fragile without protect or focus sash so it can be killed with ease

I was really surprised when I saw Nihilego's stats. The Defense sucks, but everything else is surprisingly good. High speed, insane special bulk, high special attack. Plus it learns rocks, and it dual STAB is good offensively.

It's pretty good. Not amazing, but still good.
