I don't understand how to use this thing. It's slow, has mediocre defenses, and had shitty attack. How do so many people seem to use it?
>>30482699
It has an item that doubles its Attack stat, anon.
>>30482699
It has good match-ups against certain fairies, most UBs (except Nihilego) and Tapu Bulu/Koko
only good for doubles as a electric absorber. with so many tapu kokos and rain teams going on in sm

>(except Nihilego)
ground move on switch-in before they can power gem, otherwise yeah
>>30482699
It has the same stats as Kantonese Marowak...

Marowak-Alola @ Thick Club
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Atk / 112 SpD / 132 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shadow Bone
- Flare Blitz / Fire Punch
- Earthquake / Bonemarang
- Will-O-Wisp / Toxic / Stealth Rock / Swords Dance
It can take some hits and dish out amazing amounts of damage with its Thick Club, and it walls some of the greatest Sun and Moon threats like Tapu Koko and Celesteel
>>30482699
It has 100 Def and usable HP. But use thick club has your item it will double the meager attack to mega mawile levels. Get one with lightningrod so you are immune to three things and run bonemerang, shadow bone and flare blitz plus something like will-o-wisp or stealth rock. For EV investment use something like 248HP/252ATK/8SPD and you have a good anti meta bulky attack with two good STABS and a nice coverage move.
>>30482722
It doesn't like rain but it eats tapu Koko for breakfast
>>30482699
It's anti-meta.
>>30482737
In exactly what scenario would Nihilego EVER switch in on a Marowak as a counter?
>>30482699
It's an extremely good niche Pokemon in pre-Pokebank OU. Pretty much an answer to every common electric type.
>>30482737
Nihilego is OHKO'd by Shadow Bone anyways
