Hapu became a Kahuna literally at the end of the game. She's one of the strongest characters in the game, but it makes perfectly sense for her not to be at the E4.

And declining Kukui's invitation really suits Nanu. It's also cool because now he's free to become the first Dark-type Gym Leader in the sequels/third version.

The tapus were built for Terrains, not typings.

The purpose of terrains is to be a "pseudo weather effect". That's why there's no water terrain or fire terrain, because Rain and Sun exist.

I dunno why they chose a swordfish, though. If they wanted it to be consistent with Oricorio typings, why didn't they just make a ghost? And then make a Ghost terrain?

It's a good thing Misty Terrain actually fits for Tapu Fini, though, but still...
