Reshiram fits N's design better, while Zekrom looks more like the "cool" kind of pokémon a protagonist would have. That's not even up to debate.
At the same time I think N fits "ideals" better than "truth", but these concepts were used kinda superficially so they don't set anything in stone. White and White2 still make more sense.
I still picked Black and Black2 because I platonically and non-sexually love Reshiram though. I couldn't care less about canon, I just wanted my classy dragon bro as soon as Gen 5 was released.

But it makes sense for his storyarc to be paired with the dragon of truth, since he's convinced that his beliefs are the truth and wouldn't want to be seen as simply "idealistic", but eventually he learns the real truth.

The white color compliments N's design. He looks really weird riding a Zekrom.
