It's pretty much true. Not much time has pased from ORAS, and Hoenn takes place as the same time as Kanto. But ORAS also takes place during XY, which takes place after Unova, which takes place after Johto/Sinnoh, which takes place after Kanto/Hoenn. The events are happening twice and breaking the fabric of reality which is surely going to enrage Palkia and Dialga. Sinnoh remakes confirmed.

Alternate dimensions are a very different thing from alternate universes. There are two game universes we know of, with and without Mega Evolution, that's it. Dimensions like Ultra Space and let's say the Distortion World are just small parts of those universes. Fallers are a term specific to Ultra Space, anything more than that would be a much bigger deal, we haven't seen any actual crossover between universes since it didn't pan out in ORAS.
