Easy Ditto chain method is get a trubbish a delete all it's moves and have it relearn Recycle via Heart Scale. Re-learn Switcheroo to Dhelmise and give it a leppa berry to hold.
Let ditto transform into trubbish, switch into dhelmise, pass it the berry with switcheroo.
Congrats, you now have an immortal ditto ready to call his entire family for you to murder.

I don't plan on doing one, but completing this dex, combined with getting through the story is just a little too much to bear for me at the moment since finals are coming up in a few days. I figured since I don't really plan on having the time to do it anytime soon, I would come and ask if anyone with a living dex would be a super-bro and do some swap trading with me to help me get near completion.

With Legendaries, soft-reseting in theory does give you an "extra" Legendary by recreating the one you receive with different stats. The balls, however, do not work like this.
