Yes, Sun/Moon crushed YW3 in Japan this year.

1.9 million in its first three days vs. 1.29 million for YW3 since its July release in Japan.

The merchandise sales for YW are in freefall too. At the current rate, Digimon will surpass it in Japan by 2018/2019, and reclaim that #2 monster spot in the country.

Maybe if YW had better monster designs instead of a million recolors and downright abysmal Yo-Kai it would do better.

Or maybe Level 5 was pushing it too hard.

I think YW is suffering from it being too Japanese and >>30413415. When Level-5 has a succesful franchise, they want to milk it out in as few time as possible. I think YW has had three different games in 2016. Layton also got a new installment every year until his story was over.

Thank fucking god, YW is such a boring game. And I'm including its sequels in the equation, the games are just automated ass. The only "good" part of it is the anime, and it should probably just stick to that.
