Assuming you mean Charizard, he's literally the most popular Pokemon, only comparable to Pikachu, Mewtwo, Eevee, and maybe Lucario or Greninja in modern times. Even if Decidueye is the most popular of the Alola starters (which I've seen no proof of, from what I've seen the Litten line has a slight lead over the Rowlet line), he's still nowhere near the likes of Charizard.

Greninja and Infernape were also already strong on release. Typhlosion is the most popular of the Johto starts yet he's been complete dogshit since his debut. Pokemon don't go from shit to good just because they're popular.
