I don't like Hapu because she basically has a bunch of individual features that might have been cute but when they're all stacked together on a single design it just looks stupid, even out of place. The nose, the eyes, the hair, even just being that short, all on one design is too much.

But it wasn't tacked on at all. Kukui talks about how he challenged the Kanto League and it had this huge impact on him. He talks about how he's building his own League. He literally shows you the mountain the League will be on. You then pass that mountain later and they're building the League. The League is brought up an incredible amount for a Pokemon game and it's being built constantly while you're on your journey and then since it is completed by the time you're done with your trials you are the first to get to challenge it, it's not an established League, you are literally a trailblazer for that whole region. That's why there is no Victory Road or anything, because this League is not established, it's something new and different. But tacked on? No.
