And he's not really an asshole Rival, he's just a lone wolf who just happens to team up with you because it coincides with his goals. He outright dislikes you sure, but by the end he says while you're not exactly friends, you're not enemies anymore. A welcome change after all the super friendly best friend Rivals they've had lately.

Even then, Hau's got that role and he's... harmless enough. He even has a few good lines like against Faba.
