in real life, I'd have 3 mons in total and that's it. no more than that.

that's also there reason why Jessie and James use not more than 3 mons each because they don't have the money to keep feeding them and they carefully choose Pokemon that aren't as hungry usually. for example, Arbok can go hunt for himself, same for Seviper. Wobbuffet needs to be taken care of but can go find food by himself if he needs to. Gourgeist is a fucking ghost and a plant. probably lives from photosynthesis. that's the same reason why James prefers grass-types because they don't cost much to buy food for. Inkay is a small pokemon, doesn't need much either and Weezing literally likes to eat trash and inhale moldy ass fumes. not very expensive to take care of either.
