That would probably be more annoying than good. And would people even WANT to use it, since it doesn't necessarily benefit either player?

Add items that effectively add STAB to a move of a specific type kind of like how Z-Moves work. AKA a super buff Soul Dew. Would be a nice alternative to Choice Band or Specs.

Add a Grass-type weather condition

-Grass attacks do 50% more damage
-Fire attacks do 50% less damage
-Prevents Pokemon from being Burned
-Solar Beam and Solar Blade take one turn, not two
-Stun Spore & Sleep Powder cannot miss
-Synthesis restores 66.6% HP & Ingrain restores 1/8th HP
-Drain moves(Absorb, Mega Drain, Giga Drain, Horn Leech) restore HP equal to 66.6% of the damage dealt
-Activates Chlorophyll and Leaf Guard like harsh sunlight
-Activates Dry Skin, Hydration and Swift Swim like rain
-Weather Ball becomes Grass-type
