You get the oval charm by beating Morimoto in a battle after you become Champion, no dex required, then you go see the other guy in that building with a 100% alola dex for the shiny charm

And I just found out something. since males can pass their ball now too it's actually I think 50% chance to have their ball too when breeding with a different ball female too.

sadly, this only seems to apply to pokemon of the same species, or males with ditto.

there's still no way to switch balls onto other species.
