Yes, one of them possesed Lusamine and another killed Looker's partner, but for the most part their defining trait is "extremely powerful creatures that are confused and upset over being sucked out of their homes". Solgaleo and Lunala are implied to be benevolent deities.

The other UBs pose a much bigger threat than the tapus but the difference is that they only pose a threat because they're flipping out. Once you capture them they calm down and act like any other pokemon would.
