I run adamant with heavy slam, earthquake, fire blast, and automize.
After doing some calcs I found that, despite having a -spa nature, it's not enough to turn any important OHKOs with fireblast into 2hkos or any 2hkos into 3.
So you can still run mixed with adamant.

I'm honestly considering skipping the competitive part of this gen entirely. You know it's bad when the only decent Pokemon introduced this gen are legends and totally-not-legends.
