I mean, it makes sense for the rival to be the love interest. Otherwise, playing as Serena means you get no one. The only reason Calem/Serena are the rivals is so that you can have a love interest.

Lillie is 11, it's heavily implied in Wicke's dialogue when she says MC and Hau are 11. She says that "kids always leave their house to do what they need to do at that age" so it's heavily implied both Gladion and 11 ran away at 11.
